Currently, the Foundation's grant making priorities are:

Education

We believe education provides people with the opportunity to expand their talents and capabilities. Through our grantmaking, we hope to inspire them to reach their full potential both as individuals, and as contributing citizens of a greater community. We are especially interested in programs that make quality education accessible to those who are personally committed.

Our education grants fall into three categories:

·         Individual Development

·         Systemic Improvement

·         Increasing Public Awareness

Within this framework, we are presently investing in programs that promote:

o        Liberty, Citizenship and Free Enterprise

o        Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)

o        Reading and Literacy

o        Leadership and Teaching

Public Health

Our interest in public health is closely aligned with our Education priority.  We believe that by investing in programs that maintain, restore and improve people’s physical condition, we boost our society’s overall productivity and allow individuals the opportunity to improve their lives, and those of their fellow citizens.

Our public health grants fall into three categories:

·         School Based

·         Public Awareness & Outreach

·         Professional Development

Within this framework, we are currently investing in:

o        Early Childhood Development

o        Market-based Solutions to Public Health Problems

o        Nutrition and Fitness

o        Reproductive Health

Scientific Research

We seek programs on the cutting edge of learning in specialized areas of interest to our Directors that are under-funded or not yet eligible for funding by governmental programs.  These programs are typically sponsored by top research institutions, which provide quality assurance oversight, and accountability that may not be possible in a less structured environment.  Areas in which we currently fund research are:

·         Astrophysics

·         Cosmology

·         Geophysics

·         Medical Research – To date the Foundation has funded programs in the following areas:

o        Alzheimer's Disease

o        Cancer

o        Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS)

o        Stroke

The Directors and staff are re-evaluating our goals and interests in the medical research focus area.  As a result, the Foundation currently is not accepting grantseeker inquiries related to medical research.
